The tiny village of Coxbench in Derbyshire is located just off the A38 to the north of Derby. Its picturesque rural setting in the heart of the Amber Vally and close proximity to the cities of Derby and Nottingham have made it a popular place for local families and people settling in the area. For this period property upgrade project, the Lifestyle installation team travelled to Coxbench to help the Raynar family to renovate their home.

The Raynar’s family home is a typical heritage cottage made from local stone. Named the Barley Loft because of the area’s link to the brewing industry, it is a beautiful property but needed some new high performing windows.

To ensure that their new doors and windows were in keeping with the property’s traditional aesthetic, the Raynars chose a selection of George Barnsdale timber windows and doors. George Barnsdale windows and doors are industry renowned for their superior quality. Made from high quality engineered timber, they were the perfect choice to help boost thermal and security performance while ensuring that the property’s classic character was tastefully retained.

The replacement timber windows and doors included a bespoke arched top set of French doors, a set of large outward opening double entrance doors and a third door with a two glass panel upper section and panelled lower half. All the doors and windows were finished in pebble grey to match the property’s exterior façade.

Integral blinds and bespoke panelling

To complete the installation, the Raynar family requested integral blinds to improve privacy levels on some of the doors. They also specified several bespoke panelled areas to match the window and door frames.
