Home extensions are the dream home improvement project for thousands of UK homeowners. This was certainly the case for Julie Rowland. Julie lives in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, and wanted to extend her kitchen to create a nice big living space for herself, two daughters, and small dog.

Ultraroof extension

For the home extension, Julie chose the Ultraroof from Ultraframe. The Ultraroof is a lightweight tiled conservatory roof system which provides outstanding thermal performance. She opted for stylish carbon grey tiles and two skylights to bring in the perfect amount of natural light.

The extension extends outwards from the rear of the property with the high point meeting the original house just under the first-floor windows. Its grey roofline and cladded section tastefully match the tiles while the brick work is almost indistinguishable from the exterior of the existing property.

Anthracite Grey Origin OB49 bifold doors

To open up her home onto the sunny patio area, Julie selected a set of Origin aluminium bifold doors. Specified in sleek and contemporary Anthracite Grey to complement the rest of the extension, they can be opened up wide to create a seamless link between the interior and exterior living spaces.

The bifold doors have three folding doors leaves which operate on a smooth sliding steel track system. Their super slimline frames help to optimise natural light intake and when closed sit flush with the exterior wall for a smooth and stylish appearance.
