New orangery extension project

After finding out about Lifestyle Windows by reading online reviews, Mr. and Mrs. Scott decided that they would take the plunge and contact us to design and build their new home extension. The extension they wanted was a single storey orangery that measured five metres by three metres and matched the combination red/yellow brick work of the existing property.

Premium orangery design and build

We started the project by removing the existing conservatory. Once it was disassembled and taken away, it was time to start building the new orangery. After discussing the options with the client, we agreed that the orangery should consist of:

• Brick built walls
• Small window to the side elevation
• OB 49 bifold doors
• Lantern roof
• Interior plastered perimeter ceiling
• Integrated downlights
• Laminate wood flooring

To connect the orangery to the original property, we also needed to install additional steel supports when opening up the existing property’s rear wall. As there was to be no connecting door between the existing interior space and the extension, we ensured that the orangery met all the required thermal performance and security standards.

Stylish Anthracite Grey OB49 bifold doors

To connect the orangery with the rear patio area, our clients chose a set of OB49 bifold doors. OB49 bifold doors from Origin are industry renowned for their superior levels of performance and stylish premium aesthetics. They provide some of the slimmest sightlines available today and are custom designed for every installation.

For this project, the bifold doors feature three sliding folding door panels. The doors can smoothly slide wide open to create a seamless transition between interior and exterior living space. They can also be securely closed with their large glass areas creating panoramic views over the garden and patio area.

New composite entrance door

Although not connected to the orangery, we also installed a new composite door for Mr. and Mrs. Scott. The pastel coloured composite door features a single vertical glass window in the upper section of the door and a centrally located letterbox. It is in perfect keeping with the overall look of the property and will help to boost home security.
