Heritage flush sash uPVC windows with GRAF welds in Irish oak

Above the beautiful courtyard area, we installed Heritage flush sash uPVC windows in a beautiful Irish oak finish. Flush sash windows sit flat within the frame, just like traditional timber windows, which makes them perfect for period-style homes and villages like Rothley.

These windows give the charm of wood, without the upkeep. uPVC will not rot, warp or need repainting, and it keeps heat inside far better than old timber frames. Our Heritage range also comes with multi-point locking for security and slim sightlines for more glass and more light.
The frames were made using GRAF weld technology. This creates almost invisible corner joints, pushing excess material inside the frame instead of leaving messy weld lines. The result is a smooth, premium finish that looks just like real joinery.

Key benefits for the Amery home included:

• Traditional timber style with modern performance
• Excellent insulation to keep heat in
• Low maintenance, no sanding or painting
• Strong security as standard

OB49 bifold doors in RAL 7030M

Leading onto the courtyard, the family wanted something modern, that made outdoor access easy, with views and natural light abundant. We installed Origin OB49 aluminium bifold doors in RAL 7030M grey, which the homeowner handpicked from our extensive colour chart, matching the windows that we will discuss later on.

These doors fold neatly to one side, creating a wide opening that connects the house and garden in one smooth movement.

Bifold Doors

The OB49 system is known for its slim 49mm sightlines. That means more glass and less frame, so the view takes centre stage. The doors are thermally broken, which means there is a barrier inside the frame to stop cold from travelling through the metal.

They are also built for security and ease of use, with:
• Multi-point locking and 3-star cylinders
• Smooth bottom-rolling rollers
• Options for low thresholds for easy access

Whether closed in winter or wide open in summer, these doors let the family enjoy their garden all year round.

Origin aluminium OW80 windows in RAL 7030M

To the side of the bifold doors, the family wanted something more modern. We fitted Origin OW80 aluminium windows in RAL 7030M to match the doors - a soft matt grey that works beautifully with the home’s stone exterior.

These windows are made in the UK from premium-grade aluminium. Aluminium is strong but lightweight, which means slimmer frames and more glass. That gives brighter rooms and wider views of the garden. The OW80 system is flush inside and out, so it looks neat and balanced from every angle.

With double or triple glazing options, these windows are built to keep homes warm. With advanced glass, they can reach U-values as low as 0.9 W/m²K. Lower U-values mean less heat escapes, so rooms stay cosy and energy bills stay lower.

They also come with high security as standard, including multi-point locks and PAS24 approval, which is an independent security standard.

Morley Glass Venetian blinds

Inside the glazing, we fitted Morley Glass Venetian blinds. These are blinds sealed between the panes of glass, so there are no hanging cords or dusty slats to clean.

They give the homeowners full control over light and privacy. With a simple slider or magnetic control, they can tilt or raise the blinds to suit the time of day. Morning sun, bright afternoons or cosy evenings, the light can always be just right.

Because the blinds are sealed inside the glass:
• They never collect dust
• They do not get damaged by pets or children
• They keep the look clean and uncluttered

They work perfectly with both the aluminium windows and the bifold doors, keeping the modern feel of the new space.

What does energy efficiency really mean for your home?

Energy efficiency is about keeping warmth inside during winter and stopping too much heat getting in during summer. Good windows and doors slow down heat loss. According to the Energy Saving Trust, upgrading to energy-efficient glazing can cut heat loss through windows by more than 50 percent, helping homes feel warmer and cheaper to run.

The end result for the homeowner

The finished project gave the Amery family exactly what they hoped for. Their home now feels brighter, warmer and more connected to the garden.

They now enjoy:
• More natural light throughout the day
• Better insulation and lower heat loss
• Traditional looks at the front with Irish oak flush sash windows
• A modern feel at the back with aluminium windows and bifolds
• Easy control of light and privacy with integral blinds

It is a home that blends classic style with modern comfort, without compromise.
