What is an orangery?   Modern orangery design takes inspiration from large structures traditionally built on very grand properties.  Simply put if you think about less glazing with side elevations often including brick pillars and more traditional detailing in the roof such as a deep internal lighting pelmet around the perimeter of the roof.  Consumer demand for more choice both visually and technically has driven modern orangery product design to make constructing an orangery easier and at much lower cost.  A modern orangery living space will combine the feel of light with a modern garden room extension, the best of both worlds.   Internally the variable depth lighting pelmet offers an effective solution to cut out visible glazing and limit the light into the space while keeping the space feeling very much like a predominantly glazed roof living space.  A deep internal lighting pelmet can also be heavily insulated to significantly impact on the ‘u’ values of the living space.  Our range of orangery designs are suitable for new build extension projects or for a replacement conservatory design with a range of effective glazing options, colours and external detailing enabling our customers to build an attractive and useable living space.

Our range of orangery solutions now also includes the new ULTRASKY LANTEN ROOF AND DECK design.  The ULTRASKY lantern design from Ultra-frame has been designed to give homeowners yet another take on modern orangery design.   A flat roof ‘deck’ around the perimeter of the roof gives a more traditional feel yet the modern slim lines of the lantern top offer a sleek and modern feel to the living space.

Our range of Ultra-frame products also includes two garden room design solid roof products; ULTRA ROOF 380 and LivinROOF.  ULTRAROOF 380 is the very latest in tiled roof garden room design and LivinROOF offers homeowners something a little more contemporary.  Both roofing solutions have the option of including feature shaped glazing at no extra cost and both products are LABC approved making building regulation compliance easy and at low cost.  These solid roof products offer consumers something different to predominantly glazed roof spaces, more protection from the sun and more insulation for the winter months.
